Our  Satisfied Guest's Testimonials

What an cute Cabin, highly maintained, clean and fully stocked with all the necessities! Decor like a doll house! Fully stocked with pots, pans and dishes, you only need to bring food for this full sized kitchen. Little details such as games to keep the kids busy, such as checkers, logs and puzzles and don't forget the nets to catch the fireflies are all provided. The real joy of this cabin is the stream; sitting on one of the two patios is incredibly relaxing and tranquil. The beautiful setting and the sounds from the stream makes this a place you can relax, enjoy and unwind. Take me back anytime!

Upon arriving to Coudersport, we met at the exact time, Bob, who escorted us to the cabin. He was friendly and showed us around the cabin to give us instructions about the place and then he informed us about the area and some touristy things to do. The cabin's ambiance was cozy and eclectic. It definitely is a quintessential cabin atmosphere. We were able to have the amenities of a full kitchen, games, puzzles, tv, a fire pit outside and a woodshed full of wood for our use. If you enjoy star gazing, the view is amazing! Coming from south eastern PA, I have never seen so many stars and their brightness. Cherry Springs Park has star gazing spots but you can still catch a glimpse from the balcony of the cabin or just sitting by the fire. It was a nice place to get away from the norm and relax with the comforts of home. I loved the vintage posters on the walls and ceilings. The cabin does have wifi which is a plus.

Marg and I stayed at A Cabin By The Stream for four days, three nights. It is, without a doubt, the best equiped property that we have ever stayed in. The overpowering sense of peace and quiet is really something that must be experienced. Everything was in pristine condition when we arrived and the history of this small town with Elliott NESS is something special. We would, without any hesitation whatsoever, recommed at least three night at A Cabin By The Stream. Thanks for allowing us to share your little piece of PA beauty.

This was a great place to stay while visiting the many great parks in the area. The home is very comfortable and has everything you would need to have a great time. Chris and Handyman Bob were very informative about the area providing tips of things to do, maps, and available to answer any questions we had. Cell service is limited and you do need a 4wd car to get up the driveway in certain weather but it is worth it.

Blue Skies Lodge makes you feel like you just entered the witness protection program! A breathtakingly beautiful location high up in the woods. I'm glad we were met and guided to the home because it would have been very difficult to find! Once we were there everybody discovered a clean, warm inviting home away from home. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed except food which we had packed a bunch of. Its rare to find a bed and breakfast or hotel that is exactly as advertised, but the Blue Skies Lodge actually exceeded our expectations! We are all looking forward to the opportunity to return!

Star Gazing at Cherry Springs State Park
To begin with some history about Cherry Springs State Park. Settled in about 1818 by Jonathan Edgcomb, he crafted a building, a log building, that came to be known as The Cherry Springs Hotel. Because of the remoteness, first guests were few and far between. Shortly later the lumber industry moved and proceeded to lumber off a significant amount of the out of the way hardwoods, together with hard wood cherry timber of which the park is known as.
Situated a few miles from our Coudersport Pa Hotel, to the south on Pa Rt 44 is Cherry Springs State Park. It truly is remote, isolated & untamed today as it was Two
centuries earlier. Due to the absence of regional cities and towns and lumination contamination, it is now “the place” for star gazers coming from far and wide.
Stargazing Tips at Cherry Springs State Park

Found at: 4639 Cherry Springs Rd (Pa Rt 44) Coudersport, PA 16915 it is just a few minutes to the south of Pa Rt Six in Coudersport Pa. The Parks phone number is (814) 435-5010
* Be sure you dress warmly in the Spring, Fall & Winter months. It is a mountaintop and although day temperatures may be reasonable, evening time conditions will fall significantly. Bringing blankets as well as chairs are recommended.
* Cherry Springs is an accomplished State Park, therefore please adhere to the rules of the park.
* On arrival, permit 20 minutes for
your own eyes to regulate for the lack of light
* Pets aren't allowed within the Astronomy Observation Area while astronomers are there.
* If you bring a flash light, it must be covered in red cellophane or red lens filtration system. This tends to
preserve your night eye-sight.
* If you have binoculars or perhaps a telescope, bring them. Human eye alone viewing is magnificent, but field glasses will undoubtedly add to your experience.
* Optimal observing takes place during the dark moon lunar phase.
* Check Astronomy internet sites and also the Park’s schedule of activities for Meteor Displays throughout the year. Witnessing falling stars for the first time is an indescribable event.

* Examine the Parks Schedule of Events for Star Parties, educative events as well as programs.
* Purchase a beginners guide to looking at the stars, it will help as the constellations vary with the seasons.
* Even more importantly, you should definitely confirm the climatic conditions. Usually Three or four days in advance will provide you an indication of the weather conditions outlook. Star Gazing is 100% climate centered. This might mean taking the trip here upon short notice. It's going
to be well worth it. Few things are more frustrating than arranging a getaway a month or a few weeks ahead of time, arriving only to discover rain or complete cloud cover to spoil your vacation.
The Night Time Sky Viewing area can be found to the north of Rt. 44,
which happens to be opposite the actual gated Astronomy Observation Location. Parking lots are located here as are several information kiosks. Keep to the pathway towards the general public program area where benches are located. There is also a backlit sky map wayside situated on this pathway.
Enjoy your time in our part of the world!
